Prior to be appointed as Chairman of Mercer Delta France, François was Professor of Management at the Kelley School of Business Indiana University, and Affiliate Professor of Psycho-sociology of Organizations at INSEAD, Fontainebleau France. His work focuses on strategic analysis of organizations as a tool for diagnostics of organizational issues and change management. Among various books and articles, he is the author of the Manpower award winning "The customer's victory" (1999), "The chemistry of change” (2001), The Sciences Po/Le Monde award winning "Sharing knowledge" - McMillan Business - Palgrave Publisher (2005) and "La fatigue des élites", La République des Idées, Le Seuil, PARIS, (2005). "Lost in management: la vie quotidienne des entreprises au XXIème siecle". Paris, éditions du Seuil, 2011-"Business for the 21st century: towards simplicity and trust". London, Macmillan Business, 2011. François left Mercer Delta in Septembre 2005. He is currently working as an independent sociologist. François has been involved in executive education on the INSEAD campus since 1984 and has been the director of customized programs for France Telecom, Valeo, Fortis bank, and Aviva, as well as the GEP, a Global Executive Program jointly delivered by INSEAD and Indiana University. Before joining INSEAD François spent 10 years as fellow researcher at the French Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) (1974-1984). Leaving this organization in 1984 he created and developed his first consulting company, Stratema/SMG (1984-1995). François works with multinational corporations to diagnose organizational barriers to successful change and business growth. The diagnostic process illuminates the organizational context (place) and practice (behavior) that is preventing successful adoption and implementation of business objectives. He has worked with top management teams in companies such as Air France, Air Liquide, Bobst, Credit Lyonnais, Electrabel, France Telecom, Fortis Bank, l'Oreal, Monsanto, Renault, Societe Générale, Telecom Italia, Usinor, etc. François received a BA in History from La Sorbonne in 1969, a BA in Political Science at the Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris (1971). He also graduated from the Salzburg seminar in American Studies in 1974 and the Paris School of Journalism in 1971. He is the author of several books and numerous articles. |
